Martin Ulmer was born on 10 July 1827 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Leonard Ulmer Jr. and Mary Stumpf. Martin Ulmer married Catherine Shafer, daughter of Friedrich Schaeffer and Elizabeth Guinter-Strobel, in 1850. Martin Ulmer died on 18 February 1871 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 43 years, 7 months and 8 days.1 He was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
