John Morrison was born on 8 January 1794 at Bedford County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Samuel Morrison and Mary Magdalene Ann Updegraff. John Morrison has also been reported to have been born 8 June 1794. He married, at age 26, Rachel King Tedrow, age 16 on Tuesday, 6 June 1820.1 John Morrison died on 30 September 1863 at Jefferson Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, at age 69 years, 8 months and 22 days.1 He was buried in the Lavansville Lutheran Cemetery, located in Lavansville, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
