Wesley Robert Kettenring was born on 20 March 1897 at Erving Township, Jewell County, Kansas.1 He was the son of Johann Heinrich Kettenring and Nancy Jane Miller. Wesley Robert Kettenring married, at age 22, Edith Mae Stowe, age 24 on Tuesday, 9 September 1919 at Red Cloud, Webster County, Nebraska.1 Wesley Robert Kettenring died on 2 February 1951 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Vancouver, Clark County, Washington, at age 53 years, 10 months and 13 days. Died following a Heart Attack in October of 1950.1 He was buried on 5 February 1951 in lot N-178-1, in the Rose Hill Cemetery, located in Clark County, Washington.1
He and Leslie Albert Kettenring were twins. Wesley served in France and Germany during World War I, he was a baker.
They lived in Hardy, Nuckolls County, Nebraska, where he was employed by the J. O. Hill White Eagle Gasoline Company. About 1929 they moved to Harbine, Republic County, Kansas, where he operated a gasoline serrvice station for the J. O. Hill Company. (Harbine is the unincorporated portion of Byron, Thayer County, Nebraska. The Nebraska / Kansas state line runs through the center of the town. The mailing address for the service station was Byron, Nebraska.) In 1937 they moved to Superior, Nuckolls County, Nebraska, where he was employed in the same job by J. O. Hill Company. In 1942 he went to Vancouver, Clark County, Washington and was employed in the Kaiser shipyards during World War II. His wife and son followed in 1943, his daughter Betty was married shortly before the family moved.
