George Washington Boggs was born on 15 March 1839 at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri.1 He was the son of Lilburn Wycliffe Boggs and Panthea Grant Boone.1 George Washington Boggs married, at age 26, Alabama McMeans, age 17 on Tuesday, 17 October 1865 at Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California. George Washington Boggs died on 6 May 1905 at Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, at age 66 years, 1 month and 21 days.1

Notes: George W. Boggs, the sixth son of L. W. Boggs by his last wife Panthea Grant Boone, was sent from California to St. Louis, Missouri, by his father at the age of about 14 years to go to school, but before his education was complete, his father was stricken with disease of the heart, and he sent for is son to return by overland stage in haste. He was the only passenger that stood the entire trip by stage the entire route through. He arrived day before his father's death.
