Helen S. Pepperman was born on 12 September 1907 at Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,4 She was the daughter of Charles Ellsworth Pepperman and Sallie Edith Waltz.4 Helen S. Pepperman married, at age 26, Grant Emory Haire, age 27, son of George W. Haire and Myrtle Mae Roller, on Tuesday, 10 July 1934 at Maple Springs Evangelical Church, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 Helen S. Pepperman died on 8 December 2002 at Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 95 years, 2 months and 26 days.3,4 She was buried on 11 December 2002 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend James R. Behrens.4

She had been employed by Holmes Silk Mill, U.S. Rubber Co. and Williamsport School of Commerce. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Newberry Senior Citizens. Active in the grange, she was a member of Pomona Grange and was honored this month with an honorary membership in Lycova Grange for 65 years of service.
She is survived by a brother, LaRue E. Pepperman of Linden and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary P. Metzger and Geraldine Pepperman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. James R. Behrens, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at Sanders from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.4 The Social Security Death Index gives the last residence of record for Helen as Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3
