Miriam Eleanor Ulmer was born on 14 January 1911 at Rose Valley, Gamble Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Charles Ervin Ulmer and Margaret Sophia Dangle.1 Miriam Eleanor Ulmer married, at age 32, Merl Calvin Lovell, age 33, son of James Smith Lovell and Mary E. Neff, on Thursday, 25 November 1943 at Saint Mark's Lutheran Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 Miriam Eleanor Ulmer died on 23 October 2003 at Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 92 years, 9 months and 9 days.1

The marriage of Miss Miriam Eleanor Ulmer, of 640 Cemetery Street, this city, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ulmer, of Rose Valley, to Merl C. Lovell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Smith Lovell, of Montoursville, was solemnized in a ceremony performed by the Rev. J. Ray Houser in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Thanksgiving afternoon.
Miss Lois Ulmer was her sister's only attendant, and Harold Lovell was best man for his brother. The ushers were Donald W. Stroble and Evan Lovell, another brother of the bridegroom. After the ceremony a reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ireland, aunt and uncle of the bride. When Mr. and Mrs. Lovell return from a short wedding trip, they will live in Montoursville.2

Miriam E. Lovell, 92, a resident of the Williamsport Home, and formerly of Walnut Street, Montoursville, and a native of Rose Valley, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at the home. She was born on Jan. 14, 1911, in Williamsport, a daughter of Charles and Margaret Dangle Ulmer.
On Dec. 13, 1989, she was predeceased by her husband, Merl C. Lovell. Miriam was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Northway Road Ext., where she was its organist for many years. She was also a member of the Williamsport Music Club and the Bloomingrove Historical Society. She was an avid bowler, an American Red Cross blood donor and delivered Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by a son, Robert M. Lovell of Clayton, N.Y; a daughter, Shirley Christine (James) Beck of Linden; two brothers, Irvin Ulmer of Montoursville and Rev. Charles Ulmer of North Canton, Ohio; three sisters, Lois Paulhamus of Jersey Shore, Gladys Reeder and Dorothy Stabler, both of Montoursville; and two grandchildren, Owen C. and Adrinne E. Lovell.
Miriam is also predeceased by four brothers, Harold, Howard, Elwood and Pierson Ulmer, and by a sister, Claire Ulmer.
The funeral will be on Monday, 11 a.m., at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. David A. Keller, and the Rev. Robert Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers. Contributions may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, 21 Casey Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.1
