Claire Naomi Ulmer was born on 14 October 1912 at Rose Valley, Gamble Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Ervin Ulmer and Margaret Sophia Dangle. Claire Naomi Ulmer died on 18 July 2001 at Sycamore Manor, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 88 years, 9 months and 4 days.2,3 She was buried on 24 July 2001 in the Rose Valley Cemetery, located in Gamble Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Timothy K. Hartzell.3
Claire Naomi Ulmer was a Missionary between 1940 and 1954 at Kentucky.3 Her obituary was published on 20 July 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Claire N. Ulmer, 88, formerly of Montoursville, died July 18, 2001, at Sycamore Manor, where she had been a resident for five years.
She was a member of the Faith Wesleyan Church in Williamsport. Claire retired from the former Grit Publishing Co., on November 1, 1977. She was a 1940 graduate of Cleveland Bible College, now Malone College, in Ohio and was a missionary in Kentucky for 14 years.
Born October 14, 1912 in Rose Valley, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Margaret Dangle Ulmer.
Surviving are four sisters, Miriam Lovell, Dorothy Stabler and Gladys Reeder of Montoursville and Lois Paulhamus of Salladasburg; and two brothers, Irvin Ulmer of Montoursville and Rev. Charles Ulmer of N. Canton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Howard, Elwood and Pierson.
The funeral will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with her pastor, the Rev. Timothy Hartzel, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Monday, 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to: Faith Wesleyan Church, 1029 Tucker St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or The Northeast PA Chapter of the Alzheimer's Assoc., Kirby Health Center, 71 North Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.3
