George William Stabler was born on 22 October 1883 at farm of Abraham Stabler, Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Abraham Stabler and Margaretha Anna Rhote. George William Stabler first married, at age 24, Etta Mae Billman, age 28 on Wednesday, 8 April 1908.1 George William Stabler married a second time, at age 72, Frances J. Shook, age 56 on Tuesday, 27 December 1955. George William Stabler died on 8 May 1970 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years, 6 months and 16 days.1,2 He was buried on 11 May 1970 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
He was Grit Circulation Manager. He George was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loyal Republican and member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Williamsport. He was circulating manager for Grit Publishing Co. He became a widower at the age of 61 with the death of Etta on 11 June 1945.1
