Daniel Edward Kiess was born on 29 June 1864 at Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Kiess and Christina Ann Wurster. Daniel Edward Kiess married Clara Emma Treon, daughter of John Treon and Rachael Rosella Hartman, in 1884.1 Daniel Edward Kiess married Anna Brenholtz circa 1909.1 Daniel Edward Kiess died on 29 August 1929 at Hughesville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 65 years and 2 months. He was buried in lot 226-229F, in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2
He was a surgeon. He graduated from the University of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore, Maryland on 15 March 1886. His registration at the Prothonotary's Office is dated 21 January 1888.
