Jonathan Kiess was born on 31 March 1859 at Warrensville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Kiess and Christina Ann Wurster. Jonathan Kiess married, at age 21, Mary Ellen Harris, age 21 on Thursday, 17 June 1880. Jonathan Kiess died on 18 April 1915 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 56 years and 17 days. He was buried in lot 226-229F, in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
