Cynthia Hill was born on 14 April 1867 at Belva, Nicholas County, West Virginia.1 She was the daughter of David Moses Hill and Martha Rigg.1 Cynthia Hill married, at age 18, Cornelius Dorsey Backus, age 22, son of George Washington Backhouse and Mariah Manifield Dorsey, on Sunday, 28 February 1886 at Belva, Nicholas County, West Virginia.1 Cynthia Hill died on 24 March 1953 at Nicholas County, West Virginia, at age 85 years, 11 months and 10 days.1
