Dale R. Kiess was born on 16 May 1932 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Joseph Kiess and Martha C. Ulmer. Dale R. Kiess married, at age 25, Rhoda L. Hall, daughter of Woodrow Hall and Florence [—?—], on Saturday, 17 August 1957 at Saint John's Chapel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Dale R. Kiess died on 14 February 2002 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 69 years, 8 months and 29 days.1 He was buried on 18 February 2002 in the State Road United Methodist Church Cemetery, located in Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
He was a dairy farmer. His obituary was published on 16 February 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Dale R. Kiess, 69, of 463 Kiess Hill Road, Jersey Shore, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in the Williamsport Hospital. He was married to the former Rhoda L. Hall; they observed their 44th wedding anniversary on Aug. 17, 2001. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Lycoming Christian Church. He was born on May 16, 1932, in Jersey Shore, a son of Joseph and Martha Ulmer Kiess.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law, David J. (Judy) and Ernest W. (Laura), both of Jersey Shore; a daughter, Marilyn J. Kiess of Jersey Shore; six grandchildren; a niece, Faith Henry of Williamsport and a sister, Viola Miller of Jersey Shore.
There will be a Funeral Celebration to the Glory of God on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Lycoming Christian Church, 20 Chapel Hill Road, Linden, with Revs. Mark A. Beard, Ron D. Savits and Jerry A. Cline officiating. There will be a visitation on Sunday at Knight-Confer s, 1914 Memorial Ave., from 2-4 p.m. Interment will be in State Road Cemetery.2
