     Laura May Wagner was born on 20 August 1918 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,3 She was the daughter of Sturger G. Wagner and Jeanette V. Smith.2 Laura May Wagner first married, at age 16, Phillip Larue Waltz, age 18, son of Charles Bowman Waltz and Cordie Mae Cline, on Saturday, 3 August 1935.2 Laura May Wagner married a second time Donald Guy Swarthout, son of John Swarthout and Clara Brion, circa 1977.2 Laura May Wagner died on 26 October 2004 at Manor Care Health Center, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years, 2 months and 6 days.2,3
     As of 1971, Laura May Wagner and Phillip Larue Waltz lived in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was widowed at age 56 by the death of Phillip on 2 April 1975.4,5,2 Her obituary was published on 27 October 2004 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Laura May Swarthout, 86, formerly of Linden, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, in ManorCare, Jersey Shore.

     Born Aug. 20, 1918, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Sturger and Jeanette Smith Wagner. Following the death of her first husband, P. LaRue Waltz in 1975, she married Donald S. Swarthout, who died in 1994.

     Laura May was a home health aid with the Visiting Nurses for over 20 years. She was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church and the Salladasburg Senior Citizens.

     Surviving are three daughters, Martha Myers of Linden, Donna Entz of Jersey Shore and Marlene Hertel of city; a son, Clair L. Waltz of Linden; stepchildren, Nancy Lockard of Linden, Hazel Wentzel of Jersey Mills and Connie Swarthout and Guy Swarthout, both of city; and a sister, Margaret Mitcheltree of Atlanta, Ga. There are 10 grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren, and five step-great-great-grandchildren.

     Laura May was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and George Wagner; and a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Pine Run United Methodist Church, 1719 Pine Run Road, Linden, with the Rev. Phil Meanor officiating. Burial will be in Woodward Twp. Cemetery.

     The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorials be given to her church. Arrangements by Sanders Mortuary.2
