Vida Belle Fink was born on 18 September 1918 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of William Arthur Fink and Miriam G. Sweeley.1 Vida Belle Fink married, at age 24, Charles Elmer Waltz, age 25, son of Elias Harvey Waltz and Margaret Matilda Ulmer, on Saturday, 5 December 1942 at Heshbon Evangelical United Brethren Church, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Vida Belle Fink died on 4 August 2002 at Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 83 years, 10 months and 17 days.1 She was buried on 8 August 2002 in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
She was widowed at age 69 by the death of Charles on 24 February 1988.2,3,1 Her obituary was published on 7 August 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Vida Belle Waltz, 83, formerly of Cogan Station and Fink Ave., Williamsport, died Sunday, August 4, 2002, at the Williamsport Home. Born September 18, 1918, in Old Lycoming Twp., she was the daughter of William A. and Miriam Sweeley Fink.
Vida had worked for the former J. C. Penney's store in Williamsport.
The widow of C. Elmer Waltz, Sr., who died February 24, 1988, she is survived by three sons, Charles E. (Eileen) Waltz, Jr., address unknown, Ronald E. (Betsy) of Cogan Station, and David W. (Donna) of Harrisburg; a daughter, Anne Marie Weaver of Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Kay Lynn, Aaron (Christie), Marc (Kylene Pecht), Christopher M. and Bryan Waltz, Anthony J. (Margaret), and Rebekah A. Weaver.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Jeff J. Williams of Memorial Baptist Church, Williamsport, officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery, Hepburn Township. Friends may call at the funeral home, 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
