George S. Stolz was born in January 1843 at Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of George Stolz and Maria Aderhold.1 George S. Stolz married Mary J. Downing, age 23, daughter of Thomas G. Downing and Julia Ann Bastian, on Thursday, 13 January 1870. George S. Stolz died in 1916 at Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 73 years. He was buried Muncy, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
George was fortunate being able submit a brief record of his family to John F. Meginness, editor for inclusion in the "History of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania" published in 1892. The following account can be found on page 945:
George S. Stolz, miller, was born in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, in January 1843, son of George and Mary (Aderhold) Stolz. He received a common school education. Mr. Stolz is one of the enterprising men of Muncy, and is a member of the Royal Arcanum. In politics he is a Republican.1
