Lester Shafer Gehr1,2

     Lester Shafer Gehr was born on 30 June 1922 at Balls Mills, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,2 He was the son of Fred C. Gehr and Edna Shafer.1,2 Lester Shafer Gehr died on 24 September 2006 at Sycamore Manor, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years, 2 months and 25 days.2
     He was a farmer. He never married. His obituary was published on 26 September 2006 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Lester S. Gehr, 84, of 3662 Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station, died on Sept. 24, 2006, at Sycamore Manor. Born on June 30, 1922, in Cogan Station, he was the son of Fred C. and Edna Shaffer Gehr.

Lester was a retired machinist from Textron and also was a dairy farmer in Hepburn Township.

He was a graduate of the former Hepburnville School, a lifelong member of Hepburn Baptist Church, and a member of Bloomingrove Historical Society and County Farm Bureau.

Surviving him is a brother, Ralph W. Gehr of Randalman, N.C.

Funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Services are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.2
