Winifred Sabina Heim was born on 10 May 1915 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2,1 She was the daughter of Ira Fernando Heim and Mary Sabina Ulmer. Winifred Sabina Heim married, at age 25, E. Raymond Shaheen, age 25, son of Eli Shaheen and Ida Borack, on Saturday, 25 May 1940 at Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Winifred Sabina Heim died on 10 February 2002 at Lewisburg Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, East Buffalo Township, Union County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years and 9 months.1

Winifred Heim Shaheen, 86, of 506 University Avenue, Selinsgrove, died Sunday, February 10, at Evangelical Hospital in Lewisburg, PA.
She was born May 10, 1915, in Hepburn Township, a daughter of Ira F. Heim and Mary Sabina Ulmer Heim. She graduated from Hepburn High School and Lock Haven State University, and was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau national sorority.
Mrs. Shaheen taught in one-room country schools in Lycoming County. On May 25, 1940, she married the Rev. Raymond Shaheen, who survives. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in May 2001. She was a loving wife and mother. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with students and other friends in the Susquehanna University community where her husband currently serves. One of her favorite hobbies in earlier years was making braided rugs. Mrs. Shaheen was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, the Rev. David R. Shaheen of Upper Darby, PA; two grandsons, Timothy, and his wife, Jennifer, of Chantilly, VA, and Christopher and his wife, Ginger, of Washington, D.C; two great-grandsons, William Timothy and Ryan Christopher; her sister, Elizabeth Heim Ely, of the Williamsport Home, and a brother, Thomas Heim, of Indianapolis, IN.
A son, Jon Ronald, and a brother, the Rev. David J. Heim, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 2 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Southern Avenue at Howard Street, South Williamsport. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heim-Shaheen Scholarship Fund of Susquehanna University, 514 University Avenue, Selinsgrove, PA 17870-1025. According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Winifred's last known residence was Selinsgrove, Penn Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.1
