Benjamin W. Thompson was born on 5 November 1833 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.1 He married, at age 41, Clara Updegraff, daughter of Daniel Updegraff and Catherine Bennett, on Tuesday, 13 April 1875 by the Reverend Alexander Henry.1 Benjamin W. Thompson married Adltha Twitchell.1
