Nicholas Funston was born on 25 August 1832 at Madison Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of James Campbell Funston and Rachel M. Updegraff. Nicholas Funston married, at age 24, Elizabeth Ramsey, age 21 on Wednesday, 10 June 1857 at Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Nicholas Funston died on 21 November 1889 at age 57 years, 2 months and 27 days.
