     Samuel C. Bower was born on 6 May 1906 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of George J. Bower and Laura E. Kinley. Samuel C. Bower married, at age 25, Grace P. Metzger, age 19, daughter of Charles W. Metzger and Catherine Elizabeth Waltz, in July 1931.2 Samuel C. Bower died on 23 June 1984 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 78 years, 1 month and 17 days.1,2 He was buried in the Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2
     He was a farmer.
