Eva R. Marquardt was born on 9 February 1911 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Reuben O. Marquardt and Margaret M. Lovell. Eva R. Marquardt married, at age 27, Ralph E. Bower, age 25, son of William D. Bower and Elizabeth A. Edler, on Wednesday, 9 November 1938 by the Reverend Benjamin Griffin Hoffman.2 Eva R. Marquardt died on 26 February 2001 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 90 years and 17 days.1 She was buried on 1 March 2001 in the State Road United Methodist Church Cemetery, located in Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
She was employed by Avco Lycoming. Her obituary was published on 27 February 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Eva R. Bower, 90, of 2423 Grand St., Williamsport, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Williamsport Hospital. Her husband, Ralph E. Bower, died Aug. 24, 1993. Eva was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John s United Methodist Church, Dale Metzger s Sunday School Class, formerly the Ethel Ayers Class, the United Methodist Women, and she also taught Elementary Sunday School.
Born Feb. 19, 1911, in Linden, she was the daughter of Reuben and Margaret Lovell Marquardt. Surviving are 3 sons, Wayne E. of Albuquerque, N.M., Daryl A. of Colorado Springs, Colo., and R. Lamont of this city; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and 1 sister, Alice Driver of Mechanicsburg.
The funeral will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Sanders , 821 Diamond St., with her pastor, the Rev. Kraig L. Faust officiating. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial in State Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to St. John s U.M.C., 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport, Pa.3
