Alice R. Marquardt was born on 12 August 1915.1 She was the daughter of Reuben O. Marquardt and Margaret M. Lovell. Alice R. Marquardt married, at age 29, Roy W. Driver, age 32, son of Leslie Dewitt Driver and Anna M. Engelman, on Saturday, 4 November 1944 at Maple Springs Evangelical Church, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 Alice R. Marquardt died on 28 June 2002 at age 86 years, 10 months and 16 days.1 She was buried in the Woodward Township Cemetery, located in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
Her obituary was published on 30 June 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Alice M. Driver, 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, June 28, 2002, at Bethany Village. Born August 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Rubin & Margaret (Lovell) Marquardt.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Chapter and one of the original volunteers for Meals on Wheels for the past 25 years. She was the widow of Roy E. Driver Sr.
Alice is survived by a son, Roy W. Driver, Jr., of Freeport, Maine; 1 daughter, Margaret K. Driver of Mechanicsburg; and 2 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Margaret H. Spengler officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodward Cemetery, Woodward Twp. at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m. in her church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 203 South Filbert Street, Mechanicsburg, PA, or to Alzheimer s Association of Central PA Building 2, Suite 321, 2001 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA, 17102. Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, is handling arrangements.3
