Sara Belle Abernatha was born on 19 August 1918.1 She was the daughter of James Mensch Abernatha and Ruth Edna Updegraff. Sara Belle Abernatha married Louie Pickelner circa 1934. Sara Belle Abernatha died on 29 August 2006 at age 88 years and 10 days.1

Sara B. "Salley" (Abernatha) Pickelner, 88, of Williamsport, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Sycamore Manor. She was married in 1941 to Louis Pickelner who had died in June 1981.
Sara was born in Williamsport on August 19, 1918, a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Updegraff) Abernatha. She was a former member of Temple Beth Ha Sholem.
Sara is survived by two sons, Joel M. Pickelner of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Philip Pickelner of Park City, Utah; two daughters, Susan Hancock and Lynda Pickelner, both of Williamsport; and five grandchildren, Piper and Shea of Salt Lake City, Utah, Amy of New York, and Elizabeth and Katie, both of Colorado. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and W. Elwood Abernatha.
In keeping with Sara’s wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in Sara’s memory to Sycamore Manor, Capitol Campaign, 1445 Sycamore Road, Montoursville, PA 17754. Arrangements are by the Allen and Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.1
