     Ruth Irene Updegraff was born on 12 April 1915 at Weirton, Hancock County, West Virginia.1 She was the daughter of William Updegraff and Catherine Fawcett. Ruth Irene Updegraff first married, at age 15, Ralph E. Lowman, son of Robert A. Lowman and Lillian E. Everding, in March 1931 at Indiana.2 Ruth Irene Updegraff married a second time, at age 51, Merrill L. Sheard, age 61, son of Cara Sheard and Lillie Belle [—?—], on Friday, 17 March 1967 at Indiana.2 Ruth Irene Updegraff died on 24 May 1991 at age 76 years, 1 month and 12 days.1
