     William Ansel Updegraff was born on 8 October 1909 at Martinsville, Clark County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Grover Ansel Updegraff and Stella Seaton. William Ansel Updegraff married, at age 19, Florence Goldie Doughty, age 25, daughter of John Doughty and Emma Davis, on Monday, 8 October 1928 at Clark County, Illinois.1 William Ansel Updegraff died on 23 November 1932 at age 23 years, 1 month and 15 days.1 He was buried in the Rupp Cemetery, located in Martinsville, Clark County, Illinois.
     He was a farmer between 1919 and 1932.
