Benjamin Harris Updegraff was born on 14 March 1858.1 He was the son of William Updegraff and Lucy Potter Harris.1 Benjamin Harris Updegraff died on 30 December 1935 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 77 years, 9 months and 16 days.1
Benjamin is presumed to have died unmarried. He was known as "Major Harry." He was in the Spanish American War from 7 April 1898 through 29 October 1898 in Company D, 12th Regament, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantary as the rank of Captain. He is buried in Cementery #5, Williamsport, PA - Lot 155.1
