John Covode was born on 17 March 1808 at Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Jacob Covode and Ann Updegraff.1 John Covode married Sarah Hay circa 1830. John Covode married Margaret A. Peel circa 1850. John Covode died on 11 January 1870 at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at age 61 years, 9 months and 25 days.1
