Rhea A. Bates1

Rhea A. Bates was born on 7 July 1921 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Phillip W. Bates and Marjorie L. Wright.1 Rhea A. Bates married Lewis E. Lockcuff, son of William Jonathan Lockcuff and Grace Kittie Young, in 1962.1 Rhea A. Bates died on 31 August 2006 at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 85 years, 1 month and 24 days.1 She was buried on 5 September 2006 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
As of April 2004, Rhea A. Bates and Lewis E. Lockcuff lived at 483 Northway Road Extension, Linden, Pennsylvania.2 She was widowed at age 82 by the death of Lewis on 22 May 2004.2,3

Rheas' husband of forty-two years, Lewis E. Lockcuff, died May 22, 2004.
A member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, she was also in the choir. She volunteered for the Salvation Army for many years and enjoyed cryptograms, reading and going to the beach.
Surviving are her daughters, Dolly Drabic of Middleburg, Carol Jean Kuntz of Linden, her son, Harry J. Miller of South Williamsport, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren three great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Pauline Lee of Williamsport.
Her sister, Phyllis Liddic and brother, Marlin Bates predeceased her.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, at 11 a.m. from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. The visitation will be Tuesday from 10 to service time at 11 a.m. at Sanders.
