     Kathryn M. Leavy was born on 23 August 1917 at Upper Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.5,3,6 She was the daughter of George L. Leavy and Elizabeth M. Slagenwhite.7,8 Kathryn M. Leavy married, at age 21, Kenneth W. Van Dine, age 24 on Saturday, 24 June 1939.9 Kathryn M. Leavy died on 20 February 2003 at Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 85 years, 5 months and 28 days.3,10 She was buried on 1 March 2003 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was performed by Connie A. Waugh.11
     As of 1997, Kathryn M. Leavy lived at 360 Van Dine Road, Montoursville, Pennsylvania.8 Her obituary was published on 23 February 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Kathryn M. Van Dine, 85, devoted wife and mother, a resident of 360 Van Dine Road, Montoursville, Pa., passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, in the Sycamore Manor Health Center at Montoursville.

Born in Upper Fairfield Twp., Lycoming County, Pa., on Thursday, Aug. 23, 1917, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Elizabeth M. (Slagenwhite) Leavy.

She was the widow of Kenneth W. Van Dine, who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1982. They were married on June 24, 1939, and his death broke a marital union of 43 years.

Kathryn was formerly employed in the kitchen at GTE Sylvania, Montoursville. She had previously been employed at the former Carey McFall Co. at Montoursville.

She was an active and devoted member of the Heilman United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Kenneth G. and Judith Van Dine, Wellsville, N.Y., and Robert W. and Janet I. Van Dine, Montoursville; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. and Tim Smith, Muncy, Pa; one sister, Dorothy E. Mitcheltree, Montoursville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd L. Leavy.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Heilman United Methodist Church, 2792 Kehrer Hill Road, Montoursville, with Connie A. Waugh, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Montoursville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service and following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Heilman United Methodist Church, 4570 Route 87 Highway, Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy.8 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Kathryn's last known residence was Wellsville, Allegany County, New York.3

     Kathryn M. Leavy was listed in Dorothy E. Leavy's obituary on 15 May 2004 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as her deceased sister.12
