     Dorland Edwards Bennett was born on 18 September 1921 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3 He was the son of Grover C. Bennett and Clara A. Ringler.4 Dorland Edwards Bennett married, at age 22, Bessie Carmen Waltz, age 18, daughter of Clark Hausser Waltz and Grace Kathryn Lynch, on Sunday, 2 April 1944.5,6 Dorland Edwards Bennett died on 1 December 2003 at 7164 Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station, Pennsylvania, at age 82 years, 2 months and 13 days.7 He was buried on 4 December 2003 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Joel W. Long.8
     As of 2003, Dorland Edwards Bennett lived at Cogan Station, Pennsylvania.9 His obituary was published on 3 December 2003 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Dorland E. Bennett, 82, of 7164 Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station, died Monday Dec. 1, 2003, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 18, 1921, Williamsport, the son of Grover C. and Clara A. Ringler Bennett.

He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Williamsport, and retired from the former Schnadig Corp. in Montoursville.

On April 2, 2003, he and his wife, the former Bessie C. Waltz, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Melvin E. (Carol) Bennett and Leroy W. (Becky) Bennett, both of Cogan Station; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two grandsons.

The funeral service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with his pastor, Rev. Joel W. Long, officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Eldred Twp. Friends may call on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers.9
