Bessie Carmen Waltz was born on 2 July 1925 at Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,4 She was the daughter of Clark Hausser Waltz and Grace Kathryn Lynch.5 Bessie Carmen Waltz married, at age 18, Dorland Edwards Bennett, age 22, son of Grover C. Bennett and Clara A. Ringler, on Sunday, 2 April 1944.6,7 Bessie Carmen Waltz died on 13 May 2005 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 10 months and 11 days.8 She was buried on 18 May 2005 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Joel W. Long.9

Bessie C. Bennett, 79, of 7164 Pleasant Valley Rd., Cogan Station, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Williamsport Hospital. Born July 2, 1925 in Eldred Twp., she was a daughter of Clark and Grace Lynch Waltz.
She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Williamsport. On Dec. 1, 2003 she was predeceased by her husband, Dorland E. Bennett, and is also predeceased by two grandsons and a sister.
Bessie is survived by two sons, Melvin E. (Carol) Bennett and Leroy W. (Becky) Bennett, both of Cogan Station; three brothers, William, Joseph and Theodore, all of Cogan Station; two sisters, Jane Strasburg of Cogan Station and Glenaire Snyder of Montoursville; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with the Rev. Joel W. Long, her pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers.12
