Margaret M. Whipple was born on 5 February 1920 at South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,3 She was the daughter of Benjamin Whipple and Effie Hill.1 Margaret M. Whipple married John Charles Carpenter, son of William Stewart Carpenter and Florence Bertha Waltz, circa 1937.1 Margaret M. Whipple married George E. Holt circa 1975.1 Margaret M. Whipple died on 30 September 2003 at age 83 years, 7 months and 25 days.1,3 She was buried on 4 October 2003 in the Woodward Township Cemetery, located in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend William E. Pipp.1

She is survived by her daughter, Agnes M. Steppe of Jersey Shore; her son, Charles Carpetner of Linden; her stepsons, Jasper Holt of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Daniel Holt in North Carolina; her stepdaughters, Nancy Hepfer of Julian and Kay Biddle of Beech Creek; her sisters, Agnes Whipple and Grace Fuller both of city; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John C. Carpenter in 1973 and her second husband, George E. Holt in 1993; her stepdaughter, Dorothy Barndt in 2003, and her brothers, Henry and Lewis Whipple.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. The Rev. William E. Pipp, pastor of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Carlisle, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodward Twp. Cemetery, Linden.
