Samantha J. Campbell was born on 2 December 1852 at Tennessee. She married, at age 21, Joseph Haston Howard, age 24, son of William P. Howard and Malinda Haston, on Thursday, 18 December 1873. Samantha J. Campbell died on 15 January 1938 at Yell County, Arkansas, at age 85 years, 1 month and 13 days. She was buried in the Danville Cemetery, located in Danville, Yell County, Arkansas.
