Joseph Haston Howard was born on 13 January 1849 at Tennessee. He was the son of William P. Howard and Malinda Haston. Joseph Haston Howard married, at age 24, Samantha J. He was buried in the Shepherd Cemetery, located in Yell County, Arkansas.
