Robert Kenneth Bower was born on 4 March 1916.1 He was the son of William Christopher Bower and Grace Garnet Martz. Robert Kenneth Bower first married Kathryn M. Usmar, daughter of Mildred C. Usmar, in 1937.1 Robert Kenneth Bower married a second time Ada Houseknecht, daughter of Wilbert B. Houseknecht and Florence N. Shook, in 1953. Robert Kenneth Bower died on 13 July 1985 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 69 years, 4 months and 9 days.1
Robert always said that he went to 11 different schools in his 12 years of schooling. His second wife Ada had a small bag of arrowheads that Robert collected when they lived in Trout Run. Robert did not start school until he was 7. He was a sickly child and was not expected to live to go to school.1
