Milo J. Ireland1

     Milo J. Ireland was born on 7 November 1923 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Milo M. Ireland and Mary S. Gehr. Milo J. Ireland died on 23 October 2007 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 83 years, 11 months and 16 days.1
     As of 11 August 2001, Milo J. Ireland lived at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2

     Dean R. Ireland's obituary from in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, dated on 11 August 2001 listed Milo J. Ireland as his brother.2 His obituary was published on 25 October 2007 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Milo J. Ireland, 83, of 1515 Lafayette Parkway, Williamsport, died at his home with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 23, 2007.

     Born November 7, 1923 in Williamsport, he was a son of Milo M. and Mary Gehr Ireland.

     Milo was a 1941 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 1950 graduate of Lycoming College. He was a Naval veteran of World War II having served on the U.S.S. Shangri La in the Pacific Theatre.

     He retired in 1988 with 40 years of service for the E. Keeler Co., retiring as office manager in the supply division. Milo was a member and former Council member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He loved to hunt with son Michael, and fish with son Mark and grandsons Matthew and Thomas.

     Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Ardis E. Berfield; two sons, Michael M. (Vickie C.) Ireland of Montgomery and Mark M. (Gina L.) Ireland of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandsons, Matthew M. and Thomas M. Ireland of Anchorage; and his sister, Sally Ireland of South Williamsport.

     He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Dean Ireland.

     Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in his church, 324 Howard Street, South Williamsport, with the Rev. Maurice C. Frontz III officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park with military honors by the Korean War Veterans. The family will receive friends in the east portico of the church from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Milo’s name may be made to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements by Sanders Mortuary.1
