Frederick Marquardt was born on 14 February 1826 at Job's Run, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Nickolas Stephen Marquardt and Sophia Hartmeier. Frederick Marquardt married Rosanna Kiess, daughter of Johann George Kiess and Dorothea Ulmer, circa 1848.2 Frederick Marquardt died on 26 October 1890 at age 64 years, 8 months and 12 days. Fred apparently died from a heart attack.1
As of 1860, Frederick's surname has also been spelled as Marquet. He and Rosanna Kiess appeared on the census of 21 August 1860 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This family is listed as 'Family B.10.' and 'F.6.' on the Blooming Grove, Stammbaum Wäldchen (Family Tree Little Woods) that was originally printed about 1860 - 1862. The one used for this record is currently in the possession of Frederick annnnd Zella Stabler. The Blooming Grove Historical Socitey also has one on display at their musuem. The beginning reads, "With approximately 20 family trees of families who largely live in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania and who still have living parents at the turn of the century, mostly from Mühringen and Eßlingen in Würtemberg, and who have moved here." As of 1870, Frederick's surname has also been spelled as Margood. He was a farmer in 1870. He and Rosanna Kiess appeared on the census of 31 August 1870 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. They moved to Dawson, Nebraska in the fall of 1879.
