Rhoads Jr. and Emma Weinhold.2 Caroline May Rhoads married John Clifford Updegraff in 1914.1,3,2 Caroline May Rhoads died on 8 June 1981 at Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, at age 92 years, 2 months and 14 days.1,2 She was buried on 10 June 1981 in the Rock Creek Cemetery, located in Deer Creek, Carroll County, Indiana. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Theodore Hertenstein.2

Caroline May Updegraff, 92, a former Washington Township resident, died Monday, June 8, 1981, at the Masonic Home in Franklin, where she had resided several years.
Born March 25, 1889, in Reading, Pa., she was the daughter of Andrew S. and Emma Wiehold Rhoads. She was married to J. Clifford Updegraff, who preceded her in death July 15, 1958. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Fidelity Chapter No. 58, Order of Eastern Star, both of Logansport, where she also had resided. Her husband was a former Washington Township trustee. She is survived by one son, The Rev. J. Alfred Updegraff of Dayton, Ohio, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. in Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Theodore Hertenstein officiating. Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery.2
