     Lora Salyers was born on 22 March 1906 at Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Will Salyers and Matilda Litteral. Lora Salyers married Ernest Hensley, son of William Hensley and Alvira Johnson, circa 1928.1 Lora Salyers died in December 1999 at Wurtland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Kentucky, at age 93 years and 8 months. She was buried in the Whitt Cemetery, located in Argillite, Greenup County, Kentucky.
     Her obituary was published on 28 December 1999 in the The Daily Independent, printed in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky. Her obituary stated:

     Lora Hensley - 1906-1999; Lora Salyers Hensley, 93, of Argillite, died Monday in Wurtland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

     Mrs. Hensley was born March 22, 1906, in Oil Springs, a daughter of the late Will and Matilda Litteral Salyers.

     Her husband, Earnest Hensley, died in 1972. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Thurman L. Hensley and Johnny D. Hensley.

     She attended Culp Creek Pentecostal Church.

     Surviving are two sons, Marvin Hensley and Russell Hensley, both of Argillite; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

     The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Tom Melvin and Kermit Preston. Burial will be in Whitt Cemetery in Culp Creek. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
