Mary Josephine VanBibber was born on 27 December 1920 at Missouri. She was the daughter of Wayne Park VanBibber and Mary K. Tyler. Mary Josephine VanBibber married, at age 20, Howard Brownfield, age 23, son of Dennis Brownfield and Jesse Lane, on Saturday, 12 April 1941 at Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri. Mary Josephine VanBibber died on 18 January 2006 at age 85 years and 22 days.

Mary Jo Brownfield, 85, of Redwood Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Redwood Area Hospital.
She was born Dec. 27, 1920, in Concordia, a daughter of Wayne and Mary Tyler VanBibber. On April 12, 1941, at the First Christian Church parsonage in Sedalia, she was married to Howard Dennis Brownfield, who died in 1999.
Mrs. Brownfield lived with her family in rural Sweet Springs, where she attended school. She was a 1938 graduate of Sweet Springs High School and a 1940 graduate of Sedalia Business College. She lived in Green Ridge until 1942 and then moved to Sedalia until 1946. She returned to rural Sweet Springs, she farmed with her husband, retiring in 1981 and moved to Warsaw.
She moved to Morgan, Minn., in 1991 and Redwood Falls in 1993. She was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church and belonged to the Sunshine Circle. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, reading and cooking.
Surviving are two children, Howard E. "Gene" Brownfield, and his wife, Janette, of Redwood Falls, and Sharon Kathleen "Kay" Heatley, and her husband, Charles, of Alexandria, Va; two grandchildren, Sparrow Rhiannon Heatley, of Los Angeles, and Adam Michael Heatley, of Scottsdale, Ariz; two stepgrandchildren, Dean Kenneth Wacek, of Redwood Falls, and Jane Marie Butler, of Bloomington, Minn; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Cornerstone Christian Church in Redwood Falls. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Cemetery in rural Sweet Springs, with the Rev. Gene Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs.
