Kenneth Simmons died on 11 February 2000 at New Tazewell, Claiborne County, Tennessee, at age 65 years, 5 months and 19 days.

SIMMONS, KENNETH - age 65 of New Tazewell was born August 23, 1934 passed away on February 11, 2000 at his home.
He was a charter member of M.C.M. Missionary Baptist church of New Tazewell. He was employed by the Tenn. Transportation Dept. for 43 years and retired Dec. 31, 1999, he was also a life long farmer. He was past master of Evening Star Lodge #180 of New Tazewell; he was chairman and secretary of the Shriners of New Tazewell, a former county commissioner and he served as a Hospital board member at Cla. Co. Hospital.
Preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Wilcox Simmons. Survived by: wife, Barbara Noah Simmons of New Tazewell; son & daughter in law, David & Teresa Simmons of New Tazewell, Tenn; daughter & son in law, Teresa & Tim Runyan of Jacksonville, Fla; daughter, Melinda Simmons of Trenton, Tenn; grandchildren, Matthew & Megan Simmons of New Tazewell, Phillip, Patrick & Nicholas Runyan of Jacksonville, Fla; step grandchildren, Tabitha, Tina & Kelly Monday of New Tazewell; father, Otis Simmons of New Tazewell; sister, Lucille Evans of New Tazewell, Tenn; sister & brother in law, Annette & Junior Venable of Tazewell; mother in law, Mrs. Willie Mae Noah of New Tazewell; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Sun. Feb. 13, 2000 Coffey F.H. Chapel, Tazewell; body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Interment in Irish Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marvin Simmons and Rev. Larry Beeler officiating, singer, Living Water.
Pallbearers: Jerry Greene, Matthew Simmons, Larry Evans, Roger Evans, Philip Johnson, Mike Meyers, Jeff Noah, Terry Keck. Honorary pallbearers: I.J. Meyers, Fred Cupp, Jackie & Ralph Keck, Boby Durmmonds, Dale Duncan, Gene Simmons, R.M. Dooley, Vaughn Widner. Coffey Funeral Home in charge.
