Robert Lee Peoples was born on 7 November 1930 at Mound Valley, Labette County, Kansas.1 He was the son of Ralph Willard Peoples and Mable Pressie Updegraff.1 Robert Lee Peoples died on 1 March 2012 at Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri, at age 81 years, 3 months and 23 days.1 He was buried on 3 March 2012 in the Oak Hill Cemetery, located in Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri.1
He appeared on the census of 11 April 1940 in the household of Ralph Willard Peoples and Mable Pressie Updegraff at Carthage, 2nd Ward, Jasper County, Missouri. His obituary was published on 3 March 2012 in the Joplin Globe, printed in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. His obituary stated:
Robert Lee Peoples, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. at Mercy McCune Hospital Carthage, Mo.
Robert was born Nov. 7, 1930, in Mound Valley, Kan., to Ralph Willard Peoples and Pressie Mable (Updegraff) Peoples.
He was a 1948 graduate of Carthage High School.
He served in the United States Navy.
Robert was a linotype operator and printer, he worked for the Carthage Press, Joplin Globe, M.C. Jackson Printing Company and Keepper's Office Supply Printing.
He was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Carthage serving as an usher for 25 years, Sunday school teacher and deacon.
Robert married Eva Nell Meador on June 24, 1951. They were married for 60 years she survives.
Robert is also survived by three daughters, Cathy Williams and her husband, Darrell, of Sarcoxie, Mo., Becky Cook, of Sarcoxie, and Anita Heiniger and her husband, Michael, of Webb City, Mo; one sister, Mary E. Stager, of Akron, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Willard Peoples and Ralph Edward Peoples; and one sister, Naola Bee Michael.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. George Stinebrook, minister will officiate the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
