     Dale William Wheeland was born on 21 June 1936 at Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Harrison Oliver Wheeland and Margaret Milnor Mosteller. Dale William Wheeland married, at age 21, Connie L. Bower, daughter of Carl L. Bower, on Saturday, 29 June 1957.1 Dale William Wheeland died on 6 September 2003 at farm of Howard Schriner, Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 67 years, 2 months and 16 days.1 He was buried on 10 September 2003 in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, located in Montgomery, Clinton Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

Dale W. Wheeland, 67, of 1842 Quaker Hill Road, Cogan Station, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at the Howard Schriner Farm in Eldred Twp. Born June 21, 1936, in Eldred Twp., he was the son of Harrison O. and Margaret Mosteller Wheeland.

Dale was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsport. He was a member and president for the past 31 years of the Northeast PA Tractor Pullers Association.

Dale worked as a farmer in Eldred Twp., and hauled bulk milk for area farms. He had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and for C.H. Waltz and Sons.

He and his wife, the former Connie L. Bower, celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2003.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Scott E. (Bonnie) and Thomas A. (Michelle) of Cogan Station; three daughters, Barbara A. (Raymond) Winter and Norma J. (Steven) Ulmer of Cogan Station and Karen L. (Craig) Ulmer of Turbotville; three brothers, Robert O. of Cogan Station, Carl E. of Williamsport and John W. of Loyalsock Twp; three sisters, Beverly Kleese of Cogan Station, Saloma Dangle of Williamsport and Rita Poust of Lairdsville; ten grandchildren, Brian and Wendy Ulmer, Jessica, Amanda and Katie Ulmer, Jacob, Richard and Joshua Winter, Megan Wheeland and Erik Wheeland.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry L., and two brothers, Myrle and Roy.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with his cousin, the Rev. Samuel Fry II of Palmyra United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
