     Dalton E. Kinley was born on 6 March 1922 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Grover C. Kinley and Mary Ann Metzler.1 Dalton E. Kinley first married, at age 28, Betty M. Allison, age 25, daughter of Torrence Allison and Annabelle Clarke, on Saturday, 1 July 1950. Dalton E. Kinley married a second time, at age 62, Harriet E. Rice, age 64, daughter of Carl Rudolph Rice and Margaret Blair, in November 1984. Dalton E. Kinley died on 21 April 1995 at Roseview Manor, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 73 years, 1 month and 15 days.1

     Dalton E. Kinley, 73, of Shaw Road, Williamsport RR 1 died Friday, April 21, 1995, in Roseview Manor, where he lived for a week. He and his wife, the former Harriet E. Rice, observed their 11th wedding anniversary last November.

     He retired from the former Avco Lycoming Motors Corp. after 30 years as a corporate pilot. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

     He was a life member and member of the board of directors of the Antlers Country Club. He was a member of Eugene Grafius Post 104, American Legion, Montoursville, the former Big A Hunting and Fishing Club, the Quiet Birdmen Club, the Wheel Inn and the 40 et 8, Highland Lake Lodge. He was a member of Ivy Lodge 397, F&AM, the Williamsport Consistory, the Scottish Rite and the Zafar Grotto.

     Born March 6, 1922, in Williamsport, he was a son of Grover and Mery Metzler Kinley.

     Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Dalton K. of Williamsport; three daughters, Janet K. Leinbach of Cogan Station, Debra Emrick of Greenfield Center, N.Y., and Pamela G. Johnson of Baton Rouge, La; four brothers, Alvin and Robert, both of Williamsport, Donald in West Virginia and Joel of Knoxville, Tenn., and 10 grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Moore.

     A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gedon's, 2101 Northway Road, with the Rev. Gary Emrick, his son-in-law, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers.


     Alvin Richard Kinley's obituary on 1 January 2008 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, stated that Dalton E. Kinley was his brother and preceeded him in death.1
