     George Eckert was born on 28 March 1832 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He married Mary Catherine Kaiser, daughter of Gottlieb Kaiser and Dorothy Kurz, circa 1863. George Eckert married Mary C. Slaugenwhite in 1869 by the Reverend T. F. Buck.1 George Eckert died in 1934 at Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 101 years. He was buried in the Salladasburg Cemetery, located in Salladasburg, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
