John Ulmer was born circa 1790 at Möhringen, Oberamt Stuttgart, Neckarkreis, Württemberg. He was the son of Leonhard Ulmer and Christina Margaretha Gohl. John Ulmer married Susanna Heinmann circa 1816. John Ulmer died in 1858. He was buried in the Washington Boulevard Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
