Harman Updegraff was born on 6 August 1740.1 He was the son of Peter Updegraff and Gertrude [—?—].1 Harman Updegraff married Barbara [—?—] circa 1764.1 Harman Updegraff married Anna Nancy [—?—] circa 1790.1 Harman Updegraff died on 16 May 1806 at Monaghan Township, York County, Pennsylvania, at age 65 years, 9 months and 10 days.1
Harman Updegraff was also known as Herman. He was a weaver between 1779 and 1783 at Newberry Township, York County, Province of Pennsylvania, USA.1 There was a Herman listed in the 1779 and 1783 tax lists for Newberry Township, York County, Pennsylvania as a weaver; a Herman is also listed in the 1790 Census for York County, Pennsylvania with 2 males over 16, 3 males under 16 and 5 females. Then a Herman is also listed in the 1800 Census for Monaghan Township, York County, Pennsylvania.
Herman's will was made in York County dated 10 March 1801 and probated on 3 June 1806 which lists his wife Nancy and children. There is an administration report filed on 12 January 1832 by a Henry Stover for a Herman Updegraff of of Monaghan Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1
