     Donald Wilbur Strouble was born on 2 October 1917 at Fields Station, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Elisha M. Strouble and Olive Hendrickson.1 Donald Wilbur Strouble married, at age 23, Edna Ruth Stabler, age 20, daughter of Andrew Walter Stabler and Gertude Laura Gilbert, on Saturday, 23 August 1941.1 Donald Wilbur Strouble died on 20 October 2005 at his residence, Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 88 years and 18 days.1,2 He was buried on 25 October 2005 in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Michael S. Swimley.1
     Donald Wilbur Strouble served in the US Army during World War II between 1944 and 1946. As of circa 1980, Donald Wilbur Strouble and Edna Ruth Stabler lived at 340 Bennett Street, Montoursville, Pennsylvania. His obituary was published on 22 October 2005 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Donald W. Strouble, 88, of 340 Bennett St., Montoursville, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at his residence. Born in Field Station on Oct. 2, 1917, he was the son of Elisha and Olive Hendrickson Strouble.

     Don was married to the former Edna R. Stabler and the couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Aug. 23, 2005.

     He retired from the Lovell & Strouble Machine Shop which he owned after the retirement of his partner. In addition, he taught Machine Shop at the former Williamsport Community College.

     A WWII Army veteran, Don served his country with the 70th Infantry Division in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Duboistown V.F.W.

     Don was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church where he held many offices and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. He was also very active with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts; and he served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

     Surviving him besides his wife are three daughters, Carolyn K. “Cookie” (James) Stryker of Fort Worth, Texas, Deanna L. Strouble of Montoursville and Jacalyn L. Strouble of Pittsboro, N.C; a brother, Raymond L. (JoAnn) Strouble of Montoursville; a foster brother, Phillip (Nancy) Dorman of Muncy; two sisters, Betty S. Gardner of Montoursville and Marjorie R. Blush of Long Island, N.Y; a sister-in-law, Ruby Jenkins of South Williamsport; four grandchildren, Stephanie Widener, Christopher Stryker, and Paul and Anthony Frey; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Dean H. Strouble and Max E. Jenkins.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 400 Montour St., Montoursville with his pastor, the Rev. Michael S. Swimley officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
