Reuben A. Stabler

     Reuben A. Stabler was born on 19 July 1874 at Upper Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of George Stabler and Elizabeth Ulmer. Reuben A. Stabler married, at age 25, Sadie E. Smithgall, age 23 on Thursday, 7 September 1899.1 Reuben A. Stabler died on 16 May 1944 at age 69 years, 9 months and 27 days.1 He was buried in the Vestal Hills Cemetery, located in Vestal, Broome County, New York.1

Reuben A. Stabler, the second son of George and Elizabeth Ulmer Stabler, was born July 19, 1874. He received an elementary school education and was a carpenter-cabinet maker like his older brother. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and deacon. He built several altars for different churches.

On September 7, 1899 Reuben married Sadie E. Smithgall, born December 5, 1875, a sister of Amanda, so brothers married sisters. Reuben rode a high bicycle and walked a wire, being very nimble and athletic. He held several patents and made a mechanical self-starter for his 1912 Ford. Around 1919 he moved his family to Endicott, New York where he remained until his death. Reuben died May 16, 1944. Sadie passed away September 4, 1966. Both are buried in the Vestal Hills Memorial Cemetery, Vestal, New York. He was Carpenter - Cabinet Maker.
