Daniel Stabler was born on 18 March 1871 at Upper Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of George Stabler and Elizabeth Ulmer. Daniel Stabler married, at age 24, Amanda Smithgall, age 21, daughter of William Smithgall and Margaret Entz, on Monday, 10 June 1895.1 Daniel Stabler died on 30 August 1945 at Mill Creek Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 74 years, 5 months and 12 days.1 He was buried in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

Daniel was born March 18, 1871 in Upper Fairfield Township, the second of seven children born to George and Elizabeth Ulmer Stabler. Daniel was educated in the one-room Heilman School near the Evangelical United Brethren Church. He married, Amanda Smithgall born November 2, 1873, on June 10, 1895; their early married life was spent in Upper Fairfield Township. Daniel was a member of the Fairfield Baptist Church.
A carpenter by trade, Daniel built many of the big barns in the vicinity of Lycoming County. Later, he bought a 160 acre farm in Mill Creek Township, Lycoming County, where he and Amanda lived until their deaths. Daniel was a very quiet person, never had too much to say. He enjoyed hunting, and when deer season opened, he always took time out to go hunting with his friends and neighbors.
Daniel and Amanda's older daughter, Pearl, who married George Kepner, died following childbirth leaving a seven day old baby girl, Esther Amanda. Amanda Smithgall Stabler died November 26, 1939 and Daniel died August 30, 1945. The Stabler are buried in the Montoursville, Cemetery on Lot #502A.1
